Get to know the team behind Barrie Plastic Surgery
Dr. Kamal Tumi
M.D., F.R.C.S.(C)
Dr. Tumi joined RVH (Royal Victoria Hospital) in Barrie in 2004 as a consultant plastic surgeon. He finished medical school in 1987 and then rotated in different surgical specialty fields (general surgery, orthopedic surgery and trauma surgery) before he joined the Tripoli Center for Plastic Surgery in 1989, where he stayed until 2004. He received his Canadian specialist certificate in plastic surgery from McMaster University and plastic surgery fellowship from the University of Toronto in 2001.
Dr. Tumi is known as a skilled and innovative surgeon; he performs both reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries and does his best to serve his local community, Barrie and Simcoe County as well as the Muskoka area. Dr. Tumi also does volunteer work in plastic surgery in developing countries in his spare time.
Dr. Tumi consistently attends workshops, symposia and conferences in the field of plastic and cosmetic surgery and related subjects from all over the world to enhance his skills. He brings up -to-date knowledge and technology to his patients for his plastic surgery services.
Dr. Tumi is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Ontario Medical Association, and the Canadian Medical Association.

Karyn’s journey into plastic and cosmetic surgery began in 2017. Her role at Barrie Plastic Surgery is to help educate patients on the procedure they are interested in, assist them in booking their surgeries. She ensures all your questions are answered and all your needs are taken care of. No one but you is going to be as excited to embark on your surgical journey but Karyn is going to be a close second!
She has been fully certified on all the non-surgical procedures offered her at our clinic and performing Coolsculpting and laser since 2020 and works side by side with Dr. Tumi so continuing education never stops for her. Our patients love her compassionate and warm nature, and this makes her an excellent source of comfort no matter what you choose to do here!

Alissa has developed a passionate reputation with our clients and is committed to providing comfort and satisfaction. She joined Barrie Plastic Surgery in 2020.
With a background in beauty, Alissa has also trained with Skinceuticals Academy, providing her a broad knowledge of skincare. She is so excited to follow her passion for medical aesthetics and help people achieve their skincare and aesthetic goals. She will be with you from start to finish throughout your Barrie Plastics Surgery journey.

Morgan is a Registered Practical Nurse, specializing in peri-operative nursing. She has experience working in multiple plastic surgery clinics over the years and is often requested! She is exceedingly passionate about working as a cosmetic nurse to help clients feel more confident in their own skin.
Her knowledge and attention to detail ensures clients feel relaxed and informed about their treatment plan. Morgan continues to develop her skills to ensure clients have the the highest level of care. She is proud to be part of the BPS team ad the journey of making a difference in each and every one of our patient’s lives.

Her warm and professional demeanour makes clients feel comfortable and welcome from the time they book their consultation and throughout the entire experience at Barrie Plastic Surgery. With many years of customer service behind her, she delivers a high standard of client care.
When she is not busy responding to emails, booking patients in or assisting other team members, you can find he spending time with her family and friends.
Our Facilities
Dr. Tumi has been a member of RVH since 2004. He performs most of his surgeries there and has privileges to a private clinic as well.
