A Letter from Dr. Tumi of Barrie Plastic Surgery Clinic
We hope you are doing well during this very difficult time in history. We are all trying to do our very best and we sincerely hope you and your families are safe and healthy. I joined Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Barrie in 2004 as a consultant Plastic Surgeon. I finished medical school in 1987, and then rotated between different surgical specialty fields (general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and trauma surgery) before I joined the Tripoli Center for Plastic Surgery in 1989. I received my Canadian Specialist Certificate in Plastic Surgery from McMaster University, and Plastic Surgery Fellowship from the University of Toronto in 2001. Even to this day I endeavour to continuously learn. I love to attend symposiums or conferences to master the latest techniques and keep my knowledge fresh.
Ever since moving to Barrie in 2004, I have never looked back. It has been my honour to be a part of a great community and serve the surrounding areas. I enjoy so many parts of my career and feel very fortunate to be able to help with every opportunity, big or small. Whether it’s private or publicly funded, I thoroughly enjoy every aspect. Here at BPS, we wear many different hats. We accept referrals from other physicians’ offices, do consultations and operations at RVH on a weekly basis, do consultations at the home office, perform major and minor elective surgeries, as well as provide facial injections. From what my staff tells me, I’m a teacher too (I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing!). I must emphasize how we put our patients’ health and safety above everything else; it is our number one priority. Our other priority is to meet and exceed our patients’ expectations and restore the confidence they have lost, whatever the reason may be. My favourite part is seeing my patients changed – not just physically but psychologically as well. We are a small office but we have big hearts and we pride ourselves in being honest, ethical and skilled. Our mission statement is to provide safe, high-quality care. I will not do a surgery on you if you do not need it. I want to meet and exceed your expectations. I look forward to meeting you and taking the next step in feeling confident together!
Warm Regards,
